 About us

In January 2005, we came up with the idea of presenting the Macedonian cultural heritage in Canada through a variety of events. Over the last two years, the Macedonian Drama Theatre from Skopje agreed to collaborate with our group; consequently, the comedy “Marriage Play” was presented to the Toronto audience. Two incredible Macedonian actors, Katerina Kocevska and Blagoja Corevski put on an amazing performance on November 2005.

In 2006, the Macedonian Drama Theatre presented an extraordinary comedy “Our veloved” played by three talented actresses Katerina Kocevska, Silvija Stojanovska and Marija Kondovska. Their temper, attitude and professionalism amazed the audience. It kept all of us in suspense wondering how everything was going to turn out. After the unexpected was discovered, we had a great laugh.

The Macedonian Theatre Corner was established in August 2007 and with the support of the Diaspora Coordination Bdy which is a part of the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Theatre Corner again collaborated with the Macedonian Drama Theatre from Skopje to present, the fabulous comedy “The untamable wife”. This play has been performed for over 10 years in Macedonia and Serbia and has won many awards for best performance and best play of the year.

Our version of the play took place on September 30 at the Isabel Bader Theatre, in Toronto and featured outstanding performances by Gokica Lukarevski, Katerina Kocevska, Blagoja Corevski and Branko Gorcev. The audience of the 500 people laughed hysterically over the characters’ antics. This enjoyable evening will long be remembered as a fine example of Macedonian humor.
